Have you ever wondered who collects all the cocoa nibs that are made into delicious and mouth-watering chocolate?
Children, like us are being forced to work in cocoa farms, just to make our favourite treats… chocolates. Boys, at the ages from 12 to 16 have been kidnapped and forced to work in cocoa farms. Not only that, they get physically and emotionally abused when they are slow or even when they refuse to work.
This is a big issue because the children children are forced to work under inhumane conditions and extreme abuse. The boys are mainly from Mali and other countries in West Africa. They were enslaved and kidnapped to work.
Did the manufacturers care? They just ignored the issue because they are more concerned about the profit and economic gain.
I think this issue should stop and not go on because all children have rights.
